Amanda Ackers
and
The Deep Forest Elves.

Our first full-length novel.

Amanda Ackers Series Book 1

Book One of the series. This series tells of the Greatest Adventures In Modern Elvish History. This is the retelling of the ultimate war of good against evil as it actually took place, retold by the High Elves. Challenges and battles abound. Join Amanda Ackers as she meets elves, dwarves, goblins, witches, wizards, dragons and other creatures, as her adventures take her deep into wondrous lands, filled with exotic creatures. She finds a long lost and powerfully Wizitched artifact, that she was never meant to find. She must learn to control the spirits trapped within it, or all the good within all realms, will forever perish, leaving only darkness and evil. What awaits her on her journey? Be transported into the story, and find out! If in a paperback version, app. 740 pages.

Book one is 233,217 words in length, excluding the front matter (copyright page, dedication, etc., and without the Appendix, which is very important to this series). If this book were in print as a typical 6×9 inch paperback, it would be over 700 pages in length.

If you loved the Harry Potter series, or the Lord of The Rings, we think you’ll love this series as well.

Here is what others are saying about Book one.

Five Star Ratings from Barns and Noble:

Great, exciting

These novels are far superior than any I have read dealing with teens in sci-fi. Since Harry Potter & The Twilight novels I had become tired of all of the magic & vampire novels flooding the market. I read them when my funds were limited and choices were few. I just finished reading book two of this series as book #3 wont be out till sometime next year I down-loaded every thing that Glen & Sasha Gabriel have available on my nook. Much to my surprise they were all free. : ) I am 57 and retired. I read my first novel at age 12. I seldom watch T.V. So I read. Thank you Glen and Sasha for giving me these wonderful novels. My grandsons aged 3 & 4 always have me tell them stories about what book I am reading. I edit or tone down the violence and use thier names as main characters. Thank you sooo much for the many good times you have given us. To all of you out there trying to decide if these novels are worth your time. Read them. You wont be disappointed.

Great story, highly recommend.

I’m a fan of the Harry Potter series, and if the other books in the Amanda series are as good as this one, I’ve found myself a new best series! The chapter titled, Journey Into The Bank, where they ride the mine cart on a roller-coaster thrill ride, with the goblin Kim, had me smiling. Heck, I want to take a ride like that. The chapters on the dueling competitions using wands was great. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves elves, dwarves, witches, wizards and just good adventures and a fun read.

Wonderful story, highly recommended.

I love adventure and action stories, as well as, elves, dwarves, witches, wizards and other creatures. This book has them all and then some. Amanda finds a powerful artifact and puts it on, then, can’t get it off. She learns it is the most powerful object in all the universes, and since she now wears it, SHE becomes the most powerful creature of all. The thing is, the artifact was meant for someone evil. Amanda is anything but evil, and no one knows how the artifact will interact with her. She sets out on a quest to discover either how to get the artifact off, before it turns her evil, or, learns how to control the spirits trapped within the artifact, before all is lost. Wonderful book. Have recommended it to many friends.

Terrific Story! If you liked the Harry Potter series, you’ll LOVE this!

I love a book that starts with action and one that is different. This book has both. The story is told as a transcript, compiled from the memories of the actual adventurers, surviving or demised, through the power of Wizitch, which is far more powerful than Magic. If you love elves, dwarves, goblins, witches, wizards, dragons and other creatures, and lots of adventure. I highly recommend this book, which is book one of the series. I never thought I would say this, but, I like this book as much as the Harry Potter books. If this is only the first book, I can’t wait for the others!

Five Star Ratings from Barns and Noble:

Best Series I’ve Ever Read!

I love this series! I actually feel as though I know Amanda, Thian, Tianna, Tia, Sadie and the others. Book one was outstanding to say the least, but book two rocks! Like another reviewer had mentioned, this book has lots of action, adventure and, yes, it answered many of the questions I had from book one, but has introduced many new ones. I love the chapter on the Boogie, and the fight scene with the spiders was great! Cliff hanger ending. Can’t wait for book three.

Book one was great. This book is truly outstanding.

Book one was great. This book is truly outstanding. The Bone Pit in chapter three really kept me turning the pages. Then I laughed in “Captured” chapter six at Thian. Chapter ten, “One Wild Ride” was exciting and the flaming rock people were very interesting. Shadow Alley was one of my favorites, and the character Wind Rider which we see near the end of the book, I somehow think we’ll see again. The great witch Bellinora, and her mother in the green vapor are terrific characters. I love how this book answers so many questions I had, but tosses in new ones. One of the best series I’ve ever come across. Can’t wait for book three!

Terrific!

Wow, and I thought book one was outstanding. Like book one, this one soon starts with lots of excitement… made my skin crawl within the first few chapters… loved it! Very interesting characters in this book. I love how the book also answers many of the questions I had. At first, I thought Amanda had gone through way to many adventures on and within the mountain, and could not understand how a young girl could have survived all she went through. Now, I know why! This series just gets better and better. I would recommend this series to everyone.

Our short stories.

The following short stories may be found at Smashwords.com and are FREE eBooks!

Originally, I (Glenn) had seen an ad online for a short story writing contest at lulu.com. There was only two weeks left for the contest. Neither Sasha nor myself were writers at this point. I knew that Sasha would love to be a writer and showed her the ad, saying that she should enter just for the experience and fun of it. She laughed and said, “Well… I will if you will.”

The contest was open for anyone, and you could write about anything, however, the story must be a Maximum of 600 words. I remember thinking, “What the heck could you possibly write in only 600 words?”

With only two weekends left in the contest, Sasha and I decided to write a couple of stories then upload them to Lulu.

Sasha ended up writing ten short stories, and I wrote four. I uploaded them and that was that… of course we didn’t win, but we knew that before we even began writing.

Several days after the end of the contest, I saw an ad for a company called Smashwords.com. It said that anyone could upload anything from a short story to an epic novel series for FREE. It stated that they would take you manuscript, then convert it to several of the most popular eBook formats, again, for FREE. Not only that, but they would then distribute your story to places like, Barns and Noble; the Apple iBook store; Kobo eBooks; Sony eBook store, Diesel eBooks and several others, including selected libraries… all for FREE!

I decided to upload our little short stories to Smashwords.com simply to make it easy for family to visit Smashwords and download our stories, should they wish to read our work for fun.

Of course, Sasha nor I expected anyone other than perhaps two or three of our family members to download the stories, but to our astonishment, in less than a full year, our little short stories have been downloaded over 24,000 times!

The covers you see for our short stories below are not what I would call good, but, as mentioned above, we only had two weeks to write and create covers for our shorts… so, I admit, I did not spend much time on the covers, other than for a few, which I think will be obvious.

It is with these few short stories, and our success and wonderful comments from those who read them, that both Sasha and I decided to begin writing when we could find the time.

If you have not done much writing till now, why not give short stories a try, and limit yourself to say, 1,500 words… the 600 word limit in our opinion, is just a tad too short, but one heck of a challenge!

Here are Sasha’s short stories:

I have read every book you have. I found you on Barnes and Noble, then tracked you to Smashwords.com. I’ve left a couple of 5 star reviews for you there too. I’m glad you started this blog and will follow you on Twitter and visit here from time to time too. Love your stories, but the Amanda Ackers series is awesome! My husband and children love Amanda, Thian, Tianna, Tia and little Sadie. My kids have had me read book one and two four times now, and neither my husband nor I get tired of them. In fact, we keep discovering things we missed in the previous reads. We can’t wait for book three, and can’t wait for your other novels.
    Catherine.

    • Oh, Catherine… thanks so much!
We’re beginning to work on Book Three, planning to have it available to our readers in mid to late 2013. And it will be phenomenal and worth the wait!
Hi to your husband and kids!

    • Hi Kim:

Thanks so much for the comment. I have had a great time writing the story, with Sasha doing several chapters in both books. Will try to get book 3 out as soon as possible 🙂

Thanks again for your kind words and comment.
      Glenn.

  3. Robert Cobert says:

When is book three of amanda acker going to be out

  4. Kevin Dyer says:

I am looking forward to book three of Amanda hackers. When to you expect it to be available?

    • Hi Kevin:
Thanks so much for taking the time to post on our little blog. Sasha and I very much appreciate it.
I am on something like the last five or six chapters (I think) of Amanda’s book 3. Sasha stills has to edit the whole thing, and she is one very busy woman. We had hoped to have it out by years end, but, now, it may not be out till mid 2014. Sasha and I have experienced some unexpected medical emergencies, and that has really put thing off. But, figure mid 2014. I very much apologize for the delay. Sometimes though, life just gets in the way 🙂
      Thanks again for asking.
      Glenn.

  5. Jen smith says:

I’d like to say I hate reading. But… Once I read the first book I was hooked. I love this series! It’s so real in my mind and it keeps me hanging on to the end! When will the third be out??

    • Hi Jen:
Thanks so much for visiting the blog. Sasha and I are thrilled you like our novel. I’ve still got a few chapters to go on book three, but, if Sasha can find the time to edit it once I’m done, I hope to publish it sometime around the middle of this year. I hope you liked book two as much as the first book. Let us know what you think of book three once you have read it. We would love to hear from you 🙂
      Thanks again for writing,
      Glenn.

  6. Lorrie says:

Love this series! Having serious withdrawals waiting for more! I hope ( for my sake) you have a long and successful career writing.

    • Hi Lorrie:

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Sasha and I are thrilled you love the series, and are waiting for the next book. I like writing, but only do it every few weeks, or even skip a month or so at a time. I’m not really a writer after all, and I do like other things ya know 🙂

We hope to get book 3, “The Thirteen Shards Of Legend” out by the end of 2014, I hope. Thanks again for your comments, we truly appreciate it!
      Glenn.

  7. Kevin Owens says:

I have added you to a list to receive a pre-release copy of Amanda’s book 3, “Amanda Ackers and The Thirteen Shards Of Legend.”

I’ll also try to let you know when Sasha and I release any other books.

Thanks again for your email, and kind words.
      Glenn.

  8. Susan Knapp says:

When is the next Amanda Avkers book coming out?

    • Hi Susan:

Sasha and I had hopped to have the book out by now, but we have both had some health issues. Sasha is now in a fight for her life, so, I’m afraid I haven’t done much writing. I finished writing book three, and Sasha is half way through with the editing, but… things just got pretty bad.

I wish I could give you a publishing date, but honestly, I just don’t know when.

Thank you so much for your interest in our little story. We very much appreciate it.
      Glenn.

      • Constantine says:

I absolutely adore the Amanda Ackers series and have been worried for a while now that it might have been cancelled, so I took the liberty of looking it up; I’m relieved the series hasn’t been discontinued. However I am quite torn by the news that the two of you have encountered such problems, I hope you and Sasha can make it through this crisis while continuing to make great pieces of literature that ignite the imagination.

      • Hi Constantine:

Thank you so much for your kind words about our Amanda Ackers Novels. Sasha and I very much appreciate the kindness.

Sasha and I are managing our health problems pretty well at the moment. Thank you for your concern 🙂

By the way, Amanda’s book three, “Amanda Ackers and The Thirteen Shards of Legend” will be published Saturday, Aug, 2nd, of 2014 on Smashwords.com. From there it will be distributed to Amazon.com, Barns and Noble and many others.

I am currently working on book four, “Amanda Ackers and The Lost Family.”

Sasha and I are happy you like the series. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series too.

        Glenn.

  10. ann waldrop says:

Just found the Amanda series and absolutely love all three books. So sorry to hear about your health problems. Of course there is nothing any one can do, but know the fans all wish the best for you both. Looking forward to book four. Can you let me know when it’s going to be available by posting on my facebook page? I don’t know if this is possible since I don’t know much about how to use it. I am elderly and learning. By the way, I so much appreciate being able to get these books free. Funds are tight sometimes and entertainment like this is, freely given, is as good as it gets, You said you are not a full time writer and I understand you have a whole different life apart from this, but I want to say, this series is as good as the Harry Potter series, which I also loved. You do good work as a writer. Please don’t stop.

    • Hi Ann:

Thanks so much for posting on our ancient blog 🙂 I don’t get to the blog much as you can see, but it’s nice to know someone looks at it from time to time.

Sasha and I are thrilled you love the Amanda Ackers novel series.

Thank you for your kind words about our writing, we very much appreciate it.

Since Sasha and I do not have Facebook, I’ll send you and email when Amanda’s book four is finished, and attach a copy of the book to the email as well.

I’ll be sending you an email in the next day or so, so I know the email address is correct.

Thanks again for the kind words.

      Glenn.

      • Ches Vaters says:

I only recently found the Amanda Ackers series and after reading the first book, I was hooked on the series. I just finished the third book and am anxiously waiting for the next book. I hope you will consider sending me an email when it is released. When I find a series that catches my attention like this one, I don’t mind paying for it. Thank you for reading this, wishing you both good health and happiness in the coming year.
        Ches Vaters

      • Hi Ches.
Thanks so much for the kind words on Amanda’s adventures. I’m glad you like the series. I will send you an email when the fourth book is finished, or any of our other books.
Thanks again for leaving a comment.
Enjoy the new year, and stay healthy 🙂

      • Marc Gibson says:

i am also very interested in book 4 of the Amanda Ackers series. i have read the 1st 3 books to my nieces and nephew and they loved them and can’t wait for the next book. I’m very sorry to hear about your health issues and want you to know you and your family are in our prayers. GOD bless you

      • Hi Marc:

Thanks for the kind words on the Amanda Ackers series, and for your concern for our health. I’ll email you soon.
        Glenn.

  11. Bonnie says:

Just finished reading the first two Amanda Ackers books for the second time and was thrilled to be able to read the third book Thirteen Shards. I was wondering when the fourth book “The Lost Family” will be out. I have really enjoyed reading Amanda Acker’s adventures and was first captured by the story when I read Appendix A, it put a hook right into my curiosity and could not book the book down.

    • Hi Bonnie.

I very much appreciate your interest in Amanda and her friends, and Sasha and I are thrilled you liked the first three books. Book four is way behind schedule, due to health issues. Honestly, I’m not sure if I will be able to finish it this year or not. However, I will put you on the pre-release list, so when it is finished, I’ll send you a copy prior to its release. I apologize for the delay, but sometimes life just gets in the way 🙂

Thanks again for your interest and kind words.

      Glenn.

  12. William Booker says:

    Glenn & Sasha:
I downloaded your first 3 books from B&N. While I am sure that most of your followers are of a younger set, I thought that you might appreciate knowing that this 72 yr old Sci-Fi & Fantasy reader also greatly enjoyed the series so far. I will be looking forward to the 4th volume. I got hooked on the genre back in high school in the 1950’s. While I don’t do book reports at this age, I will say that I would rate your work up with the best of them. I do hope that Sasha’s fight is successful & that the two of you continue to write for many years.

    • Hi Bob. I’m hoping that book four will be out sometime by mid year 2016. Sasha and I have had some health issues which have put the book on hold. Thank you for your interest, we very much appreciate it.
      Glenn.

  13. Mona Francis says:

I just finished reading book three of this series, and, boy am I hooked! It has been quite some time since I found something that transported me to places that I had never dreamed of!! I absolutely love these Amanda Ackers stories, and am anxiously awaiting book number four!

I am sorry to hear of your health problems, and I hope that you are both feeling stronger and healthier very soon! I do understand the whole life getting in the way thing…and sincerely hope that your lives will soon settle down. I am so grateful to have found such an exciting series that could be downloaded for free. As a single mom with my own health issues…buying books is not exactly a top priority. To find a series that is so captivating, that I truly cannot find the words to express how wonderful your books have made me feel. And the price…is awesome! 🙂 You have been blessed with such an amazing talent…please keep writing! Your books are amazing!

Thank you so much for sharing, them with me!

    • Hi Mona:

Thank you so much for your interest in Amanda and her friends.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, they seem to crop up at times don’t they? Writing the Amanda series has been a lot of fun, since I’m not really a writer. I’ve been with Amanda and her friends for so long, they have become real to me. I hope to get back to them soon, but for a time yet, I just won’t be able to. I’m still hoping to get the book out by the end of 2016… but not holding my breath 🙂

Thanks again for your interest, and I’ll try to shot you an email when it’s published.

      Glenn.

  14. Gay Crenshaw says:

I love the Amanda Ackers series and would love to know when you might expect book 4. I am waiting anxiously. Thank you.

    • Hi Gay:

I am hoping Amanda’s book four will be finished by the end of 2016. Note I say I’m hoping 🙂 Sasha and I have had some health issues which have slowed down the writing process, but I do still plan on finishing the series. Thank you so much for your interest. Sasha and I appreciate it.
      Glenn.

  15. Crystal Gause says:

Do you guys have a Facebook page or anything to give us notice when the 4th book will be released. I just finished and now I don’t know what to do with myself, you totally left us hangin… AAHHHHHHHHHHH😳😮😱😬🙂🙃😍😵😷

    • Hi Crystal:

Thanks so much for visiting our very neglected blog 🙂
Amanda’s forth book is still in the works. I’m hoping to finish by the end of 2016, but not sure. Several health issues going on, which has kind of put a hold on things for a while. But Amanda and the gang will get to the end of the adventure… really.

  16. Greg says:

Absolute love your Amanda Ackers series 1, 2, and 3. I read each book in one sitting and can’t wait for your release of the 4th book. Your books are amazing. Thank you

    • Hi Greg:

Thank you for your kind words! Read each in one sitting… wow! I hope you like book four once it comes out. I’m thinking it will be the last in the series, but… ya never know, knowing Amanda and the gang 🙂

Wow, Amanda Ackers series are the best. Thank you so so much, i loved these books. However i cant seem to find book four on Smashwords, can you help please,?

    • Hi Mcbeth. Thanks for posting on our blog.

Amanda Ackers book four may be out next year, I hope. My wife Sasha and I have had some health issues which have put the writing on hold for now.

I’ll get it out as soon as possible though.

Glad you enjoyed the series so far.

      Your friend,
      Glenn.

Ii can’t find if the last book has been completed and released, but if it has I would love to read it. Is it available somewhere? I hope you’ve had some relief from your health issues.

I am so glad to hear your health issues are better. It’s good to see your back. Look forward to see any new books, especially book 4 coming out.

I have been trying to locate lost emails from Glenn and Sasha as well. I have read the series many times and now have my children reading them.
Any update from these two would mean the world to me.
